We need your help.
We have until September this year to finish work restoring the railway from Wirksworth to Duffield in Derbyshire and our biggest obstacle
is 1500 sleepers that have to be changed this spring and summer.
You can help us in many ways from donating to support the replacement of a sleeper through becoming a shareholder in our railway to joining
us to help replace a few of the 1500 sleepers.
If you would like to learn more, please download this fully-illustrated 12-page brochure which details exactly what we need to do and how much it will cost (1.9Mb). (Having problems downloading? Try our alternative server here)
Ten years ago, the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway was an overgrown wilderness. Abandoned for ten years and run down for decades before, the line was on the verge of extinction.
Over this last decade, we have transformed this railway and now want to finish the job. We have built a business, which not only includes
heritage trains, both steam and diesel, but has become a nationally-recognised engineering business (MyTestTrack.com) and
even a location for TV and film crews. We have been on national television with Casualty, Five Days, the ITV drama 'Mobile' and even a major film
(Oranges and Sunshine).
Now we want to finish the job and open the last five miles south to Duffield where we will be able to connect with main line rail services.
We're in a hurry though and for good reason. We have to finish the restoration by this September. After then, the rules for inspecting
the railways will change and it would be at least another year and many thousands of pounds for us to follow the new regime.
We are very, very close: most of the work has been done; we are building a new station platform at Duffield, several miles of track have been
renewed but we still have just over a mile to go and this is where the 1,500 sleepers need to be changed.
Please help us. You can download our share prospectus, learn more about our railway or even
donate to help replace a sleeper and download a certificate to reflect your contribution!
